Priscilla Presley reveals one ‘comfort’ in losing daughter Lisa Marie after Elvis

Priscilla Presley has shared a heartbreaking tribute to mark the one year anniversary since the death of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa Marie died last year at the age of 54 after being found unresponsive at her home by her ex-husband Danny Keough. Taking to X, Priscilla said there is only one thing that brings her comfort when she thinks about her daughter’s death.

“Today is a very solemn day. It’s been a year since your passing and not a day goes by where I don’t think about and miss you,” she wrote. “Rest in peace, Lisa. You are in the arms of your beloved father now. Only that… gives me comfort. Mom.”

Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough also paid tribute to her mum on the one-year anniversary of her death. Taking to Instagram, the Daisy Jones and the Six star shared a picture of herself as a child sitting at a table next to her mum.

In the sweet snap, Riley smiled straight into the camera, while Lisa Marie looked down at the table. In the caption, Riley simply left a red heart emoji. Fans took to the comments to share words of comfort. “Your mother loved you, your brother and your sisters fiercely and devotedly… death does not rob us of that love, nor our memories. I have the best recollections of your beautiful mother from the time she was 4 1/2. She was extraordinarily special, but you already know that. I loved her then, now, and always. My thoughts & my heart are with you,” one person wrote.

Another fan said: “All the love to you and your sisters today, Riley,” while a third person commented: “We are thinking of you and your family today Riley. We love you!!”

Lisa Marie, the only child of Pricilla Presley and Elvis Presley, died on January 12, 2023. Her cause of death was revealed in July of that year, with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office announcing she had died of bowel obstruction. Lisa Marie’s bowel obstruction was caused by adhesions from a weight loss surgery she underwent a few years earlier. The singer was rushed to hospital on the day of her death after paramedics performed CPR on her at her home.

When Lisa’s death was announced, her mother Priscilla released a statement which read : “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
