Serena Williams Reveals Why She Didn’t Enjoy Competing Against Sister Venus

In a new interview, she explained why she disliked the competitive edge to her relationship.
“I didn’t really like it,” Serena admitted to People. “I didn’t like to compete with your best friend. It’s very difficult.”
She added that “some people” do enjoy playing against their sibling.
“Some people are like, ‘I want my sibling to go down.’ And I’m like, ‘I want her to win too,’ and so it was very difficult. It was very hard,” she explained.
Serena teased that her relationship with her sister will take center stage in an episode of her upcoming docuseries In the Arena: Serena Williams, which premieres on ESPN+ on July 10. Watch the trailer below!
