Emotional Sisterhood Moment as Serena Williams Has Nothing but Love for Venus Williams’ Nostalgic Compton Photo

In the heart of Compton, California, two young girls, Serena Williams and Venus Williams, started their journey in tennis. The rest is history, as both became living legends, winning a total of 30 Grand Slams together. However, reliving those moments from childhood can make anyone nostalgic, and the Williams sisters are no exception. In a heartwarming post, fans saw a glimpse of how the sisters relished those nostalgic times.

Yesterday, Venus Williams took to her Instagram and posted a throwback picture of their childhood. Captioned, “Throwback to when it all began 💫🎾 @serenawilliams,” the picture showcased both sisters clad in their tennis attires, smiling at the camera. They are sitting inside a tennis court on the ground, surrounded by tennis balls. Leaning onto each other, both the sisters are sitting in front of the net. Serena Williams couldn’t help but share it on her Instagram story, captioning it with “❤️❤️.”
Serena and Venus started playing tennis at a very young age under the guidance of their father, Richard. Growing up in Compton, they honed their skills just a few miles away from their home at East Rancho Dominguez Park.

Although both the sisters later moved on with their professional careers (Serena in 1995, Venus in 1994), they did not forget their roots. The courts have been renovated now, but they still hold a special place in their hearts. Not only that, that court is now known as the Venus and Serena Williams Court of Champions.
In 2016, the Williams sisters made a visit to their hometown to attend the ceremony held in their honor. On returning to Compton, the 42-year-old former tennis player said, “We are really excited to be here. Driving here brought back so many memories.” Queen V said, “It’s been a surreal experience to be back in this way.” However, that’s not the only time that they visited their home in Compton. A few years ago, both the sisters went there and had a great time once again!

Venus Williams relives her memories in her hometown in Compton
Venus Williams shot a two-part episode (episode name: I spent the Day in Compton with my sister) of her vlog showcasing her visit to her hometown in 2022 .” It’s still my community. I still have roots here. I’m so proud to come home and say this is my home. This is where I’m from. I’m very proud when I say Compton that people know what Compton is and where it is,” Serena Williams’s sister said.

She visited her former school and their old family house as well. Not only that, the 43-year-old former player also walked the tennis courts where she and Serena grew up playing. The seven-time grand slam champion also reflected on the journey from there to the top and said, “You can dream as big as you like and go as big as you want. And what’s most important is to respect yourself, have confidence. You are responsible for your life and you can do great things.”
Serena and Venus Williams’ journey from Compton to the world stage is a reflection of their hard work, determination, and resilience. Their legacy is not about winning titles but showing a champion can come from anywhere.
